"When We First Met" is the second EP under the Demana Waits Kennedy name, following "The Modern Gentleman EP" from 2009.
These six songs were written between 2009 and 2013 and are inspired by a wide slate of artists including The Postal Service, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Jimmy Eat World, Arcade Fire, Kanye West, and RAC.
The EP reflects upon different interpersonal relationships, how they begin, how they change over time, and how they affect our perspectives. The songs address a cast of characters including people you meet at bars, people you have always loved, people who remind you of other people, people you've neglected, people who've neglected you, and people who like red wine.
